Audit Senior

BenchMark are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our clients expanding team in Newport. You will lead audit assignments, manage junior team members, and work closely with clients to ensure their audit and advisory needs are met. Key Responsibilities: •Plan, execute, and complete audit assignments across a variety of industries, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS. •Manage and mentor junior auditors and trainees, providing guidance on technical issues and ensuring their development. •Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering excellent service, resolving queries, and building strong relationships. •Ensure that audit files are prepared to the highest standards, with sufficient detail to pass external regulatory reviews. •Provide advice on accounting and audit-related matters, including the application of accounting standards and financial reporting. •Identify and communicate any risks or issues identified during the audit and suggest solutions. •Assist in identifying new business opportunities and contribute to proposals for potential clients. Requirements •Fully qualified or near qualification (final stages considered). •At least 3 years of experience within an audit role, ideally within a large or medium-sized practice. •Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit processes. •Proficient in audit and accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Sage, IRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly. •Proven ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and mentor junior staff. •Experience in maintaining and developing client relationships.
