Sustainability Lead Building Consultancy South East London Salary: £75-95K, plus additional benefits and potential partnership About the Company: Our client is a modern and progressive multi-discipline construction consultancy known for its commitment to sustainability and low-carbon solutions. With a strong reputation in the housing sector and growing influence in education and blue-light services, they are a BCorp certified organization. Role Overview: As the Sustainability Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering their business plan and leading the sustainability team. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing the companys sustainability offerings, driving new business opportunities, and collaborating closely with other departments, including Building Surveys, Architects, and Services Engineers. This is a senior position with the potential for a Partner designation. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead, manage, and grow the sustainability team, currently consisting of Senior, Intermediate, and Junior Sustainability Consultants. Business Development: Develop business strategies, contribute to thought leadership, and establish relationships with new clients. Expertise: Utilize your technical skills in energy modelling (IES software), thermal comfort analysis (CIBSE TM52, TM59, TM49, Part O), and Part L compliance analysis (SAP and SBEM assessor). Sustainability Strategy: Develop Energy and Low Zero Carbon Strategy reports, Sustainability Statements, and oversee the preparation of project commissioning documentation. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and offices (London, Birmingham, Manchester) to ensure cohesive project delivery. Client Engagement: Delight clients, maintain confidentiality, and comply with QA procedures. Innovation & Flexibility: Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to the companys vision in a rapidly evolving business environment. Required Skills & Experience: Degree in a suitable scientific, sustainability or engineering discipline. Membership in CIBSE, IEMA, or EI. Proficiency in IES software, SAP, and SBEM assessments. Experience in energy and sustainability assessments, including BREEAM, CFD modeling, Passive house design, and LEED certification. Desirable Skills: Experience in thermal bridging calculations, PAS 2035 feasibility reports, energy surveys, and ESG strategy development. Expertise in daylight and sunlight assessments, commercial EPCs, and Display Energy Certificates (DEC). Soft Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. Excellent communication and report writing skills. Business development acumen with a proven track record. Collaborative approach to working practices.
